Satan is back in the headlines after making an unexpected appearance at the Golden Globes last night. It all started when Christian Bale took the stage to accept the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in the film "Vice."
Midway through his speech, Bale caused a stir by thanking Satan for "giving him inspiration" for how to play the role of the widely-disliked former vice president.
The comments quickly went viral, prompting a response from the Church of Satan on Twitter. "To us, Satan is a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism, and it serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential," the church tweeted. "As Mr. Bale's own talent and skill won him the award, this is fitting. Hail Christian! Hail Satan!"

As far as myths go, why not praise satan? Most times its praise the lord, neither statement means much except a platitude to help yourself try to explain yourself. Personally i don't think he was saying praise to satan himself but using it as a euphemism, just saying.

What amazes me is that you actually believe all this. Some people are so deeply engrained in their indoctrination that they become radical in their thought and belief structure to the point they become extremely scary. Sadly, you my friend, are one of these people.
Radical Islam is cultured, nourished, and grown from exactly this same type of ideological thought pattern that you have. It becomes so deeply engrained that it takes the person over, mind, body, and soul, to the point that they are no longer free to think for themselves. They become completely taken over.

I bet those pedophile priests blame it on Satan too. I've heard a lot of Christians say " The devil made me do it," as if that was a way for them to be absolved of sin, yet none of them ever thank Satan for taking the blame, so they shouldn't expect to receive his blessings. Christian Bale, on the other hand, surely will. .

According to Krishnamurti there is no God or Satan. The existence of these entities has never been proven. Krishnamurti posits that the existence of both are creations of man's mind and nothing more. He strongly suggests that we all live a moral, compassionate life and what happens when we die will ultimately be realized at he time of our death. Our ego's refuse to accept this and want to live on based on reincarnation, etc. Personally my ego wins and I believe that as is said in the Upanishads at the time of death we shed our bodies like a suit of worn out clothes and are born again in another body into another family to live out our karma until we are finished with this matter and then enter Nirvana/heaven to sit on a cloud strumming our harps and singing Kumbaya. Anyone want to comment?

I agree with you, Gary, but I intend to be in the section of nirvana (The Summer land,heaven, etc.) where AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Eagles and others will be playing live throughout eternity. And you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Cerberus will see to that. I sang Kumbaya enough in Catholic elementary school, starting in the late sixties. In which context was Bale talking about "Satan"? I think this has to be differentiated. The Christian church's mythology ascribes the " wrong" things that happen in life to a character called Satan. Theologically, "Satan" as a nemesis to the order of creation is first recognized in the Khmt (Ancient Egyptian) mythos as Aphep and Set. Aphep is said to be the "serpent" of darkness. Set is described as being the darkness of night which the morning sun, "Ra" drives to bring a new day. The "Temple of Set", which evolved out of the Church of Satan mentioned in the article, actually identifies the name "Satan" as having it's roots in the name "Set-an". The temple refers to Set as a type of archetype of consciousness that is the awakened soul. Being something of consciousness, of the subconscious mind, emersed in the black multi-dimensions of un-embodied thought. I can relate Christian Bale's statement to that. He recognized something deeper in himself as having inspired him, as opposed to the traditional self-righteous claim of this inspiration coming externally from a "God", assumed to be the Judeo-Christian god Yahweh. His attribution of success was given to where credit is due. To all those and that which counted.

Within the context of good VS evil, God of the Bible represents good and Satan of the Bible represents evil. Good equates to fairness, love, justice and loyalty. Evil equates to rape, murder, theft, infidelity, lying, cheating, etc. Regardless of ones faith, and we all have faith, those people that follow God or Satan are declaring their philosophy of life even if God and Satan do not exist. When atheists (like most here) praise the satanic church or satan while attacking christianity they're actually affirming their own stance by siding with philosophical evi. Christian Bale is one such atheist.
By praising the church of Satan or satan, atheists give credibility to the existence of God.
