Earlier this week, President Trump prompted mass outrage after sharing an AI-generated image on his Truth Social account seemingly depicting himself as Jesus Christ.
The image, shared by the president on Monday, depicts the president clad in white and red robes, healing a bedridden man by laying his glowing hands on him. The president is surrounded by a hospital worker, soldier, and praying woman, with glowing soldiers and fighter jets floating in the heavenly clouds behind him.
Now, despite deleting the image, the president is still trying to navigate the fallout from a post which left even some of his most ardent supporters disgusted.
“God Shall Not Be Mocked”
“Blasphemous” is how many, including prominent Trump supporters on social media, described the image. Even for many in Trump’s circle, the president depicting himself as a Christ-like figure seems to be a bridge too far.
A Doctor? Seriously?
Trump later tried to walk the post back, alleging that he believed the image showed him as a doctor - not as Jesus Christ. "I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do Red Cross," Trump said. "It's supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better."
Though he didn’t apologize for the image, the post’s removal was nevertheless a rare retreat for the otherwise pugnacious president. When asked why he took the post down, Trump stated “I didn’t want to have anybody be confused. People were confused.”
Still, few seemed to be buying the president’s story - and critics were quick to point out that doctors rarely wear biblical robes, nor do they primarily heal the sick with glowing hands.
Did This Go To His Head?
The post came shortly on the heels of an Easter weekend where President Trump’s spiritual advisor, the televangelist Paula White-Cain, drew direct comparisons between Trump and the savior of Christianity. “Jesus taught so many lessons through his death, burial and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice,” she said at an Easter luncheon, at times turning to address Trump directly. “And Mr President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our lord and savior showed us.”
What Happens Next?
The president seems keen to move on from the controversial post, but critics and supporters alike seem unlikely to let this one go. Even prominent conservatives are calling on the president to acknowledge he made a mistake and apologize, and videos even spread across social media of supporters burning their MAGA hats in protest.
Only time will tell what happens next, and how far the political fallout will extend.
What do you think of President Trump’s controversial post, and do you buy his explanation that he thought it depicted him as a doctor? Should the president apologize for what many are calling blasphemy and self-deification?

Paula White is a demon. djt has said in the past that he is the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

This guy is a very mentally ill man. He doesn't need to be in the white house. He needs to be in an asylum. Every citizen in America should be calling for him to be removed from office and sent to a mental hospital. He is harming not just Americans but people of faith around the world. Plus, the disrespect he has shown the Pope, there are no words except please someone get him out of the oval office and into an asylum. Trump knows nothing about Christ and doesn't want too. He truly believes he's greater than God!

Trump has openly responded to people asking if he was trying to mock God or Jesus he said and I quote when he elicited the AI program to generate an image he claims it was for a medical doctor and he went on for 4 minutes today explaining that. there's no reason to take anything else out of context here and there is nothing that he is wearing that is solely for Jesus Christ. come on calm down you're looking for a reason just to get upset there's too much of things like that in this world already. take a breath, ask for discernment, pray to God for wisdom before making answers and comments like you have been making. If you have actually read your Bible you will know that one married couple lied to Jesus when asked if they had sold everything and given it to the poor. lying to Jesus is blasphemous it is mocking the spirit of which that is the only unforgivable sin and they were instantly killed for it. if Trump was openly and deliberately mocking God/ Jesus / the Holy Ghost he would be dead.

I do not believe Trump's explanation of the graphic. It shows exactly what Trump thinks of himself. He believes he is all powerful. He wants us to worship him as a God.
Well he is not a God but a pitiful, small man. I await the day when his followers open their eyes and see the truth. What Trump is is godless.

Has me wondering if that might be one of his bombing victims he's "healing."

I don't personally like Mr. Tump, but I sure hope he apologizes to Jesus or he will pay the price in eternitiy.

It was an Ia image which was quickly deleted Trump has an ego bigger than himself I pity you American friends he's like Keir Starmer backtracks on everything.

Paula White is right up there with him and his madness. The composition of the AI image is also telling, in a limited way, of how he projects what is important to him. Namely himself being much larger than the other people, (not to be considered an equal), decked out in a new wig, holding a flashlight(?).... and in the top half of the image, jet fighters with bombs exploding, to be one-upped by soldiers, appearing to what is supposed to be light shining from heaven. Lastly, his public explanation that he thought it was depicting him as a doctor.

tRump is a sad, sad human being. We have always known he is not a Christian by his acts and behaviors. His time is near, so soon we will move on from this tragic period of American History.

ALL Christians are to 'Conformed' to the image lf Jesus, following The WAY of Jesus Christ of Healing, Loving, and Caring for others just like the Good Samaritan. President Trump and ALL CHRISTIANS are called to Love One Another as Christ Loves Us, It is the NEW COMMANDMENT from Jesus Christ himself. All Christians should live as Christ and His Comforter, the Holy Spirit of Truth guides them in this life and the next. It is a Lovely image of Trump healing others as we all should desire to do: help the sick, heal the injured, feed the hungry, help the poor...

The psalmist states, "No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence" (Psalm 101:7)

Yup. Heaven help us. Can't think of anything to say about this insanity.

Considering the fact that he has had a massive ego and god complex for almost 80 years, is it not reasonable in his mind to compare himself to Jesus Christ? He was scum when he was conceived and his dementia has only made it worse. May he get the mental health help he needs and the karma he deserves…

Should work on healing himself.
I don't think he thinks himself as Jesus Christ, but it seems that some of his more avid supporters do and come up with images like this. But, if he does think he is Jesus Christ, he really needs to go back into his Bible and read both the Old and New Testaments along with all the deleted biblical texts that were removed by the Council of Nicea.
