Laughable, some of the comments made. 1. A few of you Served in the Military. YOU KNOW the psychological damage this will do to a person/people. There simply is no excuse for the callous destruction of this symbol of Catholicism. It exemplifies hate related religious intolerance and is conduct unbecoming a soldier of any nation. Yes, history has its examples of intolerance in every faith but that is history. If you don't learn from your mistakes you're bound to repeat them. Such hatred is not inherent but learned. This soldier should not only be made to make reparations but dishonorablely discharged from the service and charged with hate crimes. Additionally, I suggest the entire army be forced to have sensitivity training because of him and everyone who takes that training know why. This has caused great damage to people of all faiths. Repairing such damage is never easy but the Country that allowed such hatred to fester must make the example.

I'm appalled that it took a photo of a violent act against an inanimate object to elicit such a strong response. Hundreds of civilians have been murdered. Clearly, we need photographers in the field taking pictures of the moments that innocent human beings, who are not soldiers or politicians, are being destroyed. Although I wonder if the people so upset over a mere statue would even care if it was a human man, woman, or child instead.

I think it is extremely sad that anything that has lasted for centuries is destroyed by anyone so quickly. There aren’t even any words for an act like that. Disgraceful? Inhumane? Very sad? We all have grown up and can see many versions of the so called believers who through their practices do not obey this COMMANMENT. So, I say to change this we must reprogram how we think. We must learn obedience to the words of our God. The Bible or Torah are his teachings to believers. Because of so much false teachings and acts against his teachings to us, we must learn how to change our programing. The reason you/we always must read his direct or spoken words OUT loud is so you hear his voice through you. Then you repeat what you have read three times out loud. This is the technique for reprograming our subconscious. Which controls our conscious mind. This technique helps us to focus ourself and change what is in us put there by forces before we understood our God.
