A country music star has sparked fresh debate about faith, politics, and compassion with a viral video about the ICE immigration crackdown. In the video, country artist Bryan Andrews publicly criticized the White House’s immigration policies – and called out the Christians who support them.
In passionate posts on Instagram and TikTok, Andrews accused those who support the immigration crackdowns of using religion to justify cruelty toward immigrants.
He also intimated that you can’t be a Christian and also support family-separating deportations:
“You don’t get to call yourself a Christian and then advocate and f** laugh when families are torn apart outside of courthouses, when people [are] trying to come here the right ways.”*
WARNING: Video contains crude language
Andrews also pointed to reports of ICE raids and court rulings that have allowed agents greater leeway in targeting undocumented people.
“You don’t get to call yourself a Christian, and then think it’s OK that the highest court in the f*\* land just gave a green light to ICE agents to be able to f*** target people because they are brown or speaking Spanish.”
Public Reaction
The singer’s frustration was aimed not at faith itself, but at what he sees as a distortion of its values. “You are not Christian. You use Christianity as a shield to hide behind when you need to justify the hate that you have scolded into this world,” he continued.
The comments prompted widespread conversations and reactions online about what it means to be Christian and how to reconcile biblical teachings with immigration enforcement. Those questions are also part of an ongoing debate about harsh immigrations policies that has religious communities deeply divided.
Online, his candor struck a chord. Thousands praised his courage, including actor Mark Ruffalo, who commented: “you crushed the lies of this administration and the Anti-Christian movement that supports it. Your song is f** great and it’s part of a long line of other artists who have used their music to stand up for the values of this nation.
“Country music finally finding its protest voice again.. been a long road since Johnny Cash,” another user wrote:
Naturally, not everyone agreed with his message. Some critics even called for a boycott of the musician:
Yesterday, Andrews followed up with a statement about the reactions to his comments, saying “I stand by every word I said.”

Illegal aliens should not have greater rights & privileges than a USA legal resident.
Why not become legal ?
USA citizens, who work at minimum wage jobs, do not get the same financial aid, housing assistance, educational assistance, food assistance, etc... than a minimum wage employee.
