Protests have erupted nationwide in response to the January 7th killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent. The fatal shooting has rapidly divided the nation, with some alleging that ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot Good in self defense, while others call it nothing less than state-sanctioned murder.
Now, faith leaders across the country are moving from the pulpit to the streets as outrage over the incident continues to swirl.
Faith Leaders Take to the Streets
Fury over the incident is most concentrated in Minneapolis, where tens of thousands have marched through downtown corridors and demonstrated outside federal buildings in the days after Good’s death.
Many of the faith leaders calling for justice in Minneapolis today were also key organizers of the demonstrations protesting the police murder of George Floyd in 2020, drawing direct parallels between the two killings.
Among them is Rabbi Jason Rodich, who says Good was "murdered by forces of evil."
“We have now witnessed Renee Good be shot in the street because she wanted to be a legal observer, a moral witness for her neighbors,” said the Rev. JaNaé Bates Imari, who heads a multifaith activist group. “In the Holy Scriptures, in the Bible, it says, ‘Woe to those who decree unjust laws.’ Today that woe belongs to DHS, to ICE and to those in Congress who refuse to hold them accountable.”
Anger Toward the White House
Protests over the killing are erupting across the country – and some are taking their outrage directly to Washington D.C.
“God is not neutral about violence. God is not neutral about state power,” said the Rev. Cassandra Gould, who recently organized a faith-based protest outside the White House. “God is also not a God of silence, and neither is the church.”
Bishop Dwayne Royster put a more direct challenge to president, saying, “somebody’s gotta hold Donald Trump accountable for all the evil that’s happening in this country.”
A Nation Divided
Even as outrage intensifies across the country, not everyone sees Good as a victim. The Trump administration alleges she was a “domestic terrorist” who weaponized her vehicle in an attempt to kill Ross. Ross, the government says, had no choice but to defend himself with deadly force.
President Trump described Good as “very violent” and “very radical."
Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance described her death as “a tragedy of her own making.” Vance's remarks in particular struck a nerve, with some critics going as far as to question the sincerity of his Catholic faith.
“Vance’s twisted and wrongheaded view of Christianity has been repudiated by two popes,” wrote National Catholic Reporter digital editor John Grosso. “His Catholicism seems to be little more than a political prop, a tool only for his career ambitions and desire for power.”
This is far from a one-sided issue for faith leaders, however.
Other prominent figures – particularly those aligned with the Trump Administration – condemned the protests and even insinuated that demonstrators are being paid to attend.
“The protests we see across the country right now are underpinned by the radical socialist left, whose goal is to make the United States like Venezuela, ultimately destroying the America we know,” wrote evangelist Franklin Graham in a fiery Facebook post.
The Role of Faith in Tragedy
The uproar over Renee Good’s killing has become more than a debate about one tragic moment; For the faithful, it is also a referendum on the moral responsibility of the religious community to protest injustice – if only they could agree on what actually happened.
For some religious leaders, this is a clear-cut case of standing with the vulnerable against the unchecked use of state power. For others, the protests themselves are viewed as insincere political theater over the death of a woman who foolishly disobeyed authority and paid the ultimate price.
As churches, clergy, and believers line up on opposite sides of the street, the question lingers: what role should faith play when the nation is so polarized that the facts of this case can’t be agreed upon?

You are right, I took the training, and you don't brandish a weapon and he didn't. It looks like he has been concealed carrying, as 11 days prior to the lethal incident his ribs were broke, the video looks to show his weapon expose in the rear waist band. He was taken down pretty bad, but they didn't arrest him, but likely did see the weapon. So there is no reason to believe he carried because he had ill intent. Nor was there any reason to believe he would be killed just for carrying it at a protest. I know the narrative is being painted different, but several videos showed the same thing. There is one where a woman was sitting in a car recording it, and she got some conversation. The officer who took the weapon from his waistband yelled loudly that he had got the gun. I think Pretti wanted to be a hero , I suppose he was, in a way, defending a woman being pushed down cost him his life.

His hands were in clear sight the entire time, one was holding his phone to record, and after he was tackled to the ground by 6 agents he had been disarmed before ICE agents shot him, three of the shots were in his back. The law is clear that anybody who entered illegally and remains illegally has committed an offence. They deserve to be arrested and deported. Trump ran on, and was elected by a significant majority of the people, to do that very thing. It is so rare and unusual to see a politician keep an election promise, many seem unable to cope. If you don't like the law, then petition your elected representatives to change it. If you wish to peacefully protest, without interfering in federal agents performing their legal duties, then by all means do so. ALMOST NONE of what one sees in Minneapolis, Portland, etc., etc. is peaceful protest. It is riotous behaviour which must not be tolerated. I was trained in riot control, and let me assure you, in general, the federal agents involved are showing a remarkable amount of restraint. They are outnumbered, and not being supported by local law enforcement, which they have every right to expect, sanctuary bs notwithstanding. If the 'protesters' were properly managed by local law enforcement, there would be no need for CS gas, pepper balls or any of the like to be used by federal agents. Local politicians have set the scene for this with their refusal to support the law, and they must bear a large part of the blame for tacitly encouraging this situation. I am willing to bet that were the agents not under such pressure to make arrests quickly, before they are swamped, few of the tactics many of you accuse them of, would be occurring. If any go too far, considering the millions of hours of video that has been shot, I am sure there will be mountains of evidence when it comes time for a reckoning. I watched the Renee Good videos from all angles, and I am sorry to tell you that I agree that the agent was justified. Bottom line is, all anybody has to do to be safe is not interfere where you do not belong. Trump needs to make the proclamation and invoke the Insurrection Act. This is very clearly a political divide. No one on the right thinks she was murdered. No one on the left thinks she was attacking him. We all saw the same videos. That political choice could make people see the exact opposite things with their eyes, on a physical screen, that can be replayed as many times as desired, is beyond bizarre. That said, self-defense is action taken when someone is approaching you with the intent to harm or kill... And even if their initial intent was to harm you but they decided to turn and leave the area instead, shooting them is no longer a defense.
Case in point, I was idling at a rest stop once when I saw three men walking towards me from the side, and I got "that feeling." In response, I simply laid my handgun on top of the dash and they casually made a u-turn and walked away... I knew what their intent was, but I certainly didn't shoot them as they left.

The facts are that the number of illegal immigrants in Minnesota (less than 100,000) are very far less than in Texas or Florida (millions). If ICE's function is to rid this country of these people here illegally, why are they in Minnesota? They are there because Minnesota is a Democratic state and POTUS needs to create havoc extreme enough that he can invoke the Insurrection Act. Why are they not having issues in Texas of Florida?!? Because law enforcement in Texas and Florida work with immigration enforcement and honor ICE detainers on violent illegal immigrants. NO ONE posting here SAW what happened! I don't care what video you watched, NONE OF THEM showed the car strike the officer. I watched them all dozens of times, and I personally am of the opinion that the car didn't strike the officer...but that is MY OPINION.
What are the FACTS? The agent did not follow correct procedure and placed himself in harms way. This is totally against Law Enforcement training. It is also NOT "self-defense" if you place yourself into the situation. Not my opinion...it's a legal situation that has been addressed in court. The initial video was viewed by government agencies and Trump jumped on a press conference, immediately condemning Good and tossing wild claims about her. A multitude of people pointed out issues with the claim, based on the video evidence...then the second video was released. Suddenly, they all turned away from the video that people found holes in to focus on the other video. That second video DOES NOT show a better angle. It shows an angle where you can't see the wheels, so can't say where they are pointed. You still can't see the agent actually struck. Then comes the video he was filming with his camera. NOW the justification is that the video jumps around "because he was hit". Do you SEE him get hit? NO. You see him fumble the camera while he draws his gun. Personally, I would drop the camera if my life were in danger, but maybe my priorities are off.
Regardless...a person died. A MOTHER WAS KILLED! If you claim to be a Christian and are justifying or celebrating her death, you are a liar. You CAN NOT follow Christianity and enjoy the fact that someone died.

See my post above. I SAW what happened. A pick up truck was fleeing ICE, it can be seen in a video passing Good's vehicle, which was partially blocking the way. The ICE pursuing pick up pulls up to Good's vehicle, instead of going around. Agents jump out and approach Good's vehicle with one trying to open the driver's door while yelling "Get Out!". Another agent nearby by is yelling "Get out of Here!". Meanwhile, Ross, who was already on scene had stationed himself, in contravention of SOP, just off of the left forward quarter panel. Good then followed the instruction of the now retreating agents to leave the area, with the steering wheels turned away from all the agents. As Good accelerates, Ross appears standing still, not jumping out of the way, gun already drawn and fires one round through the bottom right driver's side of the windshield, then at least two more rounds through the open driver side window. Let there be no doubt that the veracity of this eyewitness account will be borne out by practically every other witness to this atrocity. And assured that all will share what they witnessed with the BCA and the state's Attorney General's office, who by the way is already suing the fed DOJ and FBI for NOT investigating what happened.

Rittenhouse was a teenager who, as teenagers will do, made a poor decision about where to be at a particular time. When he was attacked, he was completely justified in defending himself. Sadly, he doesn't seem to have grown up much since then -- it still seems to be poor decisions 24/7.

Ive read many of the comments left here. Now lets step back a second and look at the facts that have been given thus far. Goode and her wife where members of the ICE Watch group which trains in tactics to interfere with ICE agents, they where not there to monitor. They traveled over 300 miles from their home in Missouri to protest. A mother should be more concerned about the actions from the outcome of possibly not seeing her child ever. After following Agents most of the morning she blocked the road and Agents repeatedly asked her to exit the vehicle. She then used her vehicle as weapon towards an Agent. Right there is 3 things she did wrong, yes the death of Goode is not the best and should not have happened, but by her own actions and decisions, she is no longer with us.

I an surprised by short memory. On January 6th American Citizens marched to a public building and have spent years in jail without even being charged. I guess nobody remembers Ashli Babbit, a military veteran (un armed) her back to an officer climbing thru a window. She was shot to death, no marches, no burning the city. This situation is unfortunate, but where is the government arresting thousands of American citizens after January 6th. The answer is simple, money is being paid to a certain political party to "peacefully protest". Neither officer should have fired, but one was able to retire and nobody called for his arrest, the other has groups calling for a lynching. Like it or not, the ICE agents are doing their jobs, they are following laws that were created by both sides of the political opinion. She should have stayed away, not attending a protest after dropping off her son. If she had not wanted to be a spectacle, under the push of her wife, she would have gone to work and be home at dinner.

That's how you are supposed to get incarcerated in this country, which is something that ICE has apparently never learned. There are time limits for detainment, and due process required for arrest. They were by no means "escorted" into the capitol. There's video of a capitol police officer being pulled into the mob of Trump supporters and beaten as people yell, "kill him with his own gun." Multiple weapons were found on those who stormed the capitol building. People plead guilty because the evidence was clear that they would lose at trial.
Meanwhile in Minnesota, Alex Pretti was on the sidewalk observing ICE until they threw a woman to the ground. At that point he stepped between the woman and ICE officer to protect her. He was then sprayed in the face with pepper spray, tackled to the ground by 6 agents, disarmed of his legally carried gun, and finally shot at 9 or 10 times with 5 shots hitting him. Three of the shots fired hit him in the back.
He never brandished his weapon, he never threatened ICE agents, he never posed a threat to law enforcement.
You're right; there is no comparison between the murder of Alex Pretti and the January 6 insurrection. January 6 was way, way worse.

Maybe you should think back a bit...January 6th, no one "marched to a public building". They ATTACKED our Nation's Capitol. Ashli Babbit was a member of that group, assaulting the Government Building announcing the intent to murder members of Congress. The window she was climbing through was in a locked door. She had broken that window and was climbing through. Many officers had already been assaulted, and she was a member of that group that were attacking. The officer who shot her was convinced that he was protecting his own life and defending the lives of others. It is a very sad thing that she died, but using her death to justify someone elses is just ridiculous.

Calling her a ***** just crowned his moment with the glory he so looked forward to that day. The Trump administration gave to and sanctioned Johnathan Ross's licence to kill Renee Good just as a Mafia Boss would have put a contract out on a person that owed them money!!
The videos of that encounter no matter how one views them from every angle give proof to the fact that Johnathan Ross murdered Renee Good with malice and with forethought!! He knew as he stepped around the vehicle that he was going to discharge his weapon. As she tried to turn away from the officers to leave as one of them instructed, he stepped in front of her vehicle and shot once through the windsheild, then to make sure he finished the job, he shot twice more through the open car window aiming directly at her head with deadly force, all the while calling her a *****! Now, for those of you who would defend this man as "Just an officer doing his job", you certainly have the right to your opinion as WRONG as it may be, but, you do have that right in the America I was raised in, and I would defend your right even though I feel differently about it.
As Ordained Ministers we believe in doing "NO HARM" and respecting every Religion as someone's belief, however, that does not give us the right under the Teachings of Christ to sanction such behavior as just someone doing their job!! Mistakes were made on both sides of this situation. From what’s visible, other people were able to go around Renee Good’s vehicle without trouble. ICE chose not to do that. They chose to escalate, and that choice cost a human life.
Law enforcement is trained not to step in front of a vehicle with its engine on for exactly this reason. When training is ignored and the result is a civilian death, serious questions follow. What makes this worse is how quickly the story was declared “justified,” how fast federal agencies closed ranks, and how state officials were cut out of the process. That may be allowed — but it doesn’t inspire trust.
I don’t claim to know the officer’s intent. I do know this didn’t have to end in gunfire, and the public deserves a full, independent accounting. At a moment when the president is openly threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act, escalation should alarm all of us. When force replaces restraint and accountability becomes optional, we’re heading somewhere dangerous.
As for the “illegal immigrant killer” comments I’m seeing—This is why people are protesting. Many of those being detained by ICE haven’t committed serious crimes at all. We were told enforcement would target dangerous offenders, but that was a lie. People like Renee Good were watching because communities are watching — as neighbors and families are taken with little transparency or accountability.

James, I agree with you. There are no good sides to this really. It is all bad. ICE is doing things in ways that are unConstitutional. Going door to door, carding people, Iraq war vet detained, stopping off-duty cops based on profiling in an effort to detain. This is over-reach. Not all ICE are bad. Some are. Some are not. Not all protestors deserve to be treated poorly. Some are respectful and observing and protesting civilly and others are aggitators and should be removed from an already tense situation. What is happening is both sides turning up the volume on deliberate chaos. With each side having different agenda. One wants to detract from the world stage and resource globbing. The other wants to overturn everything the one is doing. No good outcome can come from this. Are there criminal undocumented but registered individuals (they are fingerprinted and photographed and have to disclose an address)- YES. That is not the same as someone undocumented without criminal history or criminal issues- as that is a civil issue not a criminal law issue (think parking ticket not murder). I just do not see any side of this as being right or wrong, good or evil. I see injustice, chaos, and bad choices on both sides. The truth is somewhere in the middle and I think people have to take a step back to see it.

I had to look close to the various videos because it looked at first like an execution. The vehicles could go around her, one did pass her, yet choose to stop and try to force her out. Had she been actually blocking the ICE agent's egress, they may have had cause to stop and confront her. It was murder, as one doesn't fire three shots unless intending to kill.

Father. I live in Minnesota. The people POTUS has sent in are violent as well. They are not following ethics of their profession in detaining individuals, they are also detaining citizens, war veterans of this country, and others. They are using violence. Renee Good did not have to die in the manner she did. She did not have to die at all. There were other decisions that could be made. Officer Ross could have been away from vehicles if it was still a trigger (understandably so) for him. Why would commander place him or permit him to position near a vehicle with this as a risk? People should not die for resistance or words. They die when people lack emotion regulation skills, when the spirit of murder, offense, and hate overwhelms. Yes. demons are busy causing chaos and confusion on both sides. There is no truth in what is happening from either. It is a distraction for the world events- our potential war with our allies in the E U over greenland and greed. Are there bad immigrants who should be deported. YES. Are there immigrants with civil infractions (solely being illegal is CIVIL not CRIMINAL- think parking ticket not murder) but non criminal - YES. Are there many American citizens in the prison systems for the very crimes people are complaining and blaming on immigrants? YES. Because no population is void of sin. Sin is a human condition people need foundation and morals and values to turn away from.
There is propaganda everywhere. I support truth where ever it shows up. I support morals, values, love, kindness, and the ability to have dialogue about differences and values in a safe, respectful manner. I am essentially a Centrist with compassion and empathy for some left leaning issues but also holding some right leaning values. I listen to discernment and truth- Holy Spirit/ God (for me personally) and not fear, rhetoric, propaganda, chaos, and the negativity that is being attempted to overwhelm our nervous systems and pushed on us daily.

You may or may not know that a genuine election in Venezuela in 2024 led to the American Embassy publicly recognizing that Edmundo González Urrutia was the true winner of the election and was kept from attaining the office by Maduro and his loyalists.
Trump could pressure the existing Venezuelan government to seat Urrutia as president instead of leaving Maduro loyalists in charge, which might significantly reduce the apprehensions of Venezuelan citizens.

I do understand the lefts thinks a fascist regime is in control but realistically this administration is attempting to remove those who shouldn’t be here as peacefully as possible even though it might not look like it, but the left are working hard to prevent officers enforcing federal law. Obama used federal officers to do the exact same thing and even created cages. Do you remember those times? Meanwhile, Trump calls Democrats "domestic terrorists" and "the enemy from within" which is the exact same playbook used by the Nazis against Jews.

Illegal immigrant parents that made the crazy decision to illegally enter the US and have children here created their own problem. Obviously, if the children are not old enough to stay here and live on their own they will be allowed to leave with their parents. Children that are old enough to stay here, and are American citizens by birth, will have the choice to either stay here, or return with their parents. That problem was caused by the parents not by Homeland Security adhering to our laws.
Any adult, citizen or not, found breaking the law here in the United States that warrants being detained, or temporarily jailed, are automatically separated from their children. Did you not know that? For instance, did you honestly think that if a parent was arrested for a DUI with his family in the car that his whole family would be jailed along with him/her? Stories of children being “wrongfully” separated from their family is a narrative the left love to use.
CPS takes care of the children in those situations with illegal alien parents being detained and waiting to be deported. Then they are repatriated with their children to go with them. I am so sorry that you see enforcing our current democratically approved laws as being fascist. It’s the way it has always been with all administration's.

The Trump administration implemented the policy of separating children from their parents when they were caught illegally crossing the border. I'm not talking about unaccompanied minors or US citizen children with undocumented parents. I'm talking about separating families who cross together. This is not the same thing as separating someone who was arrested for a DUI from their family and you know I was not suggesting that the whole family should be jailed for the crimes of one. You're putting words in my mouth to paint me as the unreasonable one.
Still you will not address the violence being perpetuated against detainees by ICE nor will you address the violent rhetoric being used by the Trump administration. These are the signs of authoritarianism and fascism, not simply the deportation of immigrants. There is a right way and a wrong way to deport people and this administration is doing it the wrong way.
All you can do is say, "Well Obama did this" as though that somehow justifies or defends your position when it doesn't. Guess what? I also think Obama sucks, though I'd guess we have different reasons for thinking so. Defend Trump administration's actions, don't deflect by pointing out other administration's poor actions.

As an "old American" IK have spent many years watching this. I was in the Marine Corp during the peanut side president. Working my whole life I was very offended every year that my benefits are being spent outside of the stated rules. My whole life I have heard that S/S is running out of money, Medicare is broke etc. As I watch the border and see thousands rush the gates and are given access to S/S and Medicare as a welcome gift and told to return to court in 10 years and here is your new phone, it makes me sick. The illegal immigrants walked during some past presidential leadership and were given more rights and benefits then American citizens. The current leadership is trying to remove those who didn't follow our entry rules. Immigrants COULD have attempted to Americanize in the last 4 years, but found the deal was better to use the phone app. I am sorry that so many Americans are so rich that they enjoy opening their checkbooks and their retirements to those who really aren't eligible. If there was a method to have controlled the federal government spending money like a drunk college girl with her daddy's AX Card, we wouldn't have this problem. But, here we are, as an American I want control in the American way.

The Trump administration has been encouraging ICE officers to be violent towards protesters time and time again and have gone to great lengths to falsely portray Renee Good as a domestic terrorist. It's not the left using violent rhetoric, it's the right who are posting videos depicting violent acts against liberals, calling them "the enemy from within," and speaking of liberals as if they are sub-human. The right have already exonerated the ICE officer who killed Renee Good without even completing an investigation so I have no expectations of our current government holding him accountable.
ICE officers are abusing people; this is well documented at this point as I have shown you. They have been doing it for almost a year without repercussions. What makes you think they will be held accountable for their actions at this point?
Why can federal officials stop you while you walk and demand to see your papers proving you're a legal resident or else they'll drag you into their car and detain you? Are you defending these actions?

If people “peacefully” protested there wouldn’t be any need for any altercations. Federal officers would be able to detain only those they are looking for and do their jobs they are employed to do, enforce federal law.

There was never a police report for these men they claim to be searching for...neighbors of the family were outraged. You know, during the Nazis' control of Germany, it was against the law and viewed as interfering with law enforcement to protect Jews from being sent to interment camps. While ICE officers today might not be sending people to death camps like the Nazis did to Jews, it does reflect how sometimes standing up and protesting law enforcement is the right thing to do.
Additionally, the current administration has previously ignored court rulings regarding deportations and ICE activities and there's no reason to believe they'll follow future court orders either if the ruling doesn't agree with the President's agenda. How is the court system going to address any issues when the government ignores their rulings?

Okay, show us the other videos that clearly show the agent being hit. I've seen more videos than just the ones used by the NY Times and not one appears to show the ICE agent being hit by the car. There was no reason for the second and third shots into the side of the car once the officer was out of the way. Even if he isn't a murderer, which I strongly disagree with, he is absolutely a killer because he shot and killed a person.
Additionally, I haven't seen violent demonstrations in Minneapolis due to Renee Good's killer. They've been overwhelmingly peaceful and if there's anyone escalating the situation with violence, it's federal officers not the protestors.

Let me start by correcting a few things for you. I've never called myself an agitator, nor have I have been violent at a protest or incited someone to violence. I do believe I have previously called myself an activist on this blog but that's probably giving me more credit than I'm due. Advocate probably fits better since I'm not actively working day-to-day for these causes like a proper activist would, but I do advocate for the things I believe to be moral and right.
You seem to be projecting a lot of things on liberals that you yourself are doing when you claim that we're choosing to believe what we want to see or hear. I am certainly willing to admit that I have a liberal bias, but I am also willing to admit when I am wrong and change my opinion when presented with evidence that contradicts my stance.
If you have video evidence that contradicts the NY Times video I shared, please provide me a link because I would be very interested in seeing it.
I have not seen people coming to the aid of undocumented immigrants who have killed someone in the US. These deaths are absolutely tragic and most of them have been due to drunk driving, which to me seems to be the bigger problem instead of undocumented immigrants.
I do not believe that the agent is a murderer simply because I'm being told to do so; I believe that because of the numerous videos of the incident. Again, even if we agree that he is not a murderer, he is absolutely a killer because he killed someone.
Please provide me examples of liberal leaders calling for violence in response to Renee Good's death. I will strongly condemn anyone who is doing so.
Regardless if she blocked the roadway deliberately, which is debatable since she was waving cars by to pass her, blocking the road is not justification for a death sentence.
Why have you been silent about the violence committed by ICE? There's lots of documented incidents of detainees being physically and sexually abused while detained. I've even heard of instances of detainees being brought to hospitals with injuries consistent with beatings. Why is ICE violence acceptable but the actions of those responding to their violence are not?

I've seen numerous videos from different angles, including one video that had stitched different angles together so you could better see where everyone was during the incident. While I have seen one angle from far away that seems to show the shooter getting hit by the car, when compared with other videos you can see that the point where it looks like he's being hit from one angle, another angle shows he was already next to the vehicle, and not in the path of it, making it seem highly unlikely he was actually hit.

I don’t believe in the efficacy of prayer, but let’s all at least give a thought to those, and their families, who have needlessly lost their lives.

So lets specify violent crimes of a few instead of simply crimes. Being in the US illegally is a misdemeanor, not a felony, and instead of trying to find a legal means to allow these people to stay here and immigrate legally, as most want to do, you want to ship them out of the country even if that's to a country they've never been to and have no ties to.
Secure borders would not stop undocumented immigrants from entering the country since the vast majority enter legally through legal ports of entry.

Who's to say the undocumented immigrant wouldn't have killed someone else in a different country had they not been here? I am with Lionheart on this. First, Entering the U.S. illegally is generally classified as a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to six months for a first offense. However, reentering the U.S. after being removed is considered a felony, which can lead to harsher penalties. And second, most people heard government members of the house of rep, say "more crimes art committed by Americans then by illegals". My neighbors son is a police officer and says that of course it is easier to catch a person with ID, is on record then it is to catch someone who has no records. As a father, I will not forgive crimes, not caring your status, but I shouldn't have to defend my family from a criminal that shouldn't be the available to commit it. For the record, DUI is a misdemeanor, so I guess we allow that because it didn't mean that everyone broke the law because they didn't crash or kill someone? I agree, people sin, when you commit a misdemeanor you have 1 already, do we make a quota system?

Yes, there are some who snuck across the border and are hiding out. These are the ones who usually try to keep a low profile. They try to be polite to everyone and try to avoid any legal issues. You say these should be locked up, abused, then shipped off to a prison in a country they have no ties to...because "they are criminals"? Yes, the people who harm others...who rob, cheat and steal...the VIOLENT CRIMINALS should pay for their crimes. Are you saying that the young widow who's AMERICAN husband left her with 3 kids when he died should be sent to that prison right along with them? Are you saying her kids should be charged as a rapist, murderer, or drug dealer...because someone of their nationality was a criminal?

Lionheart, that would be fine if that were actually what was happening — but it isn’t. People who were here legally are being removed: individuals who showed up for immigration appointments, people married to U.S. citizens and in the process of applying for green cards, and people who have committed no violent crimes, despite assurances to the contrary.
I agree that those who entered the country illegally and committed crimes should be deported. But that isn’t what’s happening across the board. People who have begun the legal process to remain here are being swept up as well, and I don’t agree with that.
As for “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” it’s no different than what we heard about Bush, Obama, or any other president. Every administration claims the criticism is irrational when it becomes uncomfortable. This isn’t new — it’s been happening for over 50 years — but it has become more extreme since 2001.

UIDS aside, since you KNOW that all these people died at the hands of an undocumented alien, I can only presume they have been caught, adjudicated, and are rotting in prison, which is exactly where they should be. Ross should be held accountable in exactly the same way. She did not run over him, and he called her a F---ing B---- as her car careened away after he shot her (from the driver's side through the window). How could he have shot her through the windshield and side windows if he ran over her?

Illegal aliens who have criminal records. Not all people who are without status but registered are violent and horrible people. We have to temper that and compare to that of those that are born here, citizens and also in prison for violent crimes and have killed. This is not an immigrant issue this is a human issue. I understand and mirror your outrage. What I will not do is pretend that it is simply because of immigration.

I hope you feel the same way about those illegal immigrants that have needlessly killed US citizens. They shouldn't have been here in the first place. Let’s hope we can remove those that shouldn’t be here, that have not been vetted for our safety, as soon as possible, and as safely as possible.

What does this have to do with undocumented immigrants anyway? Perhaps you have a condition called Undocumented Immigrant Derangement Syndrome (UIDS) that's blinding you to the fact that immigrants, regardless of their documentation status, commit less crime than natural born US citizens? The killing of Renee Good was nothing more than State sanctioned murder. I have seen the videos and they show that there was no reason for the ICE agent to shoot her. She was trying to pull away from him and he was in no danger. ICE has become nothing more than Trumps own personal band of stormtroopers. They must be stopped.

In Matthew 22:18-22, Jesus exposes the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and Herodians who are trying to trap him regarding taxes. Upon seeing a denarius, he instructs them to "render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's," causing them to marvel and leave.
