Happy New Year to our ULC Ministers, and welcome to the Monastery's newsletter for January 2012!
For years people have speculated about what will happen in 2012, and it has finally arrived. Barring the advent of the apocalypse, quite a bit is set to occur in the next twelve months. In the United States there will be a presidential election, the summer Olympic Games will be hosted in London, and in the Chinese Zodiac, this is the year of the Dragon which promises success, power, and unpredictability.
We'd love to hear of plans made by our ministers for the new year! Give us your feedback by joining us on our blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
Former Las Vegas mayor and notorious lawyer to the old mob, Oscar B. Goodman has repented and seen the light! The spirit has compelled him to get ordained with the Monastery and begin a new career as a Universal Life Church wedding officiant. His Honor, husband of current mayor Carolyn Goodman, will be officiating his first weddings on St Valentine's Day 2012 at the new Mob Museum, formerly the federal courthouse and U.S. Post Office. It was there that Mr. Goodman made a name for himself representing such reputed mobsters and bad guys as; Meyer Lansky, Frank Rosenthal and Anthony Spilotro. Today, Brother Goodman joins the ranks of celebrity ULC Ministers such as Conan O'Brien, Kathy Griffin, Jeff Probst, and Rob Dyrdek (who has just officiated his sister's wedding for his upcoming MTV series Fantasy Factory).
