What really upsets me isn't the defense of our president, but the sentiments that Islam needs to be eliminated. We are here at the ULC to celebrate diverse spiritual beliefs. I want to hear from those that have studied or been raised in the Islamic faith. Sure there are Islamic fundamentalists, there are also Christian fundamentalists. Both groups demonstrate intolerance to the point of justifying violence. Both faiths also have a lot of good baked into their texts that should not be discounted. The good that happens in this world does not make headlines, but it's there, everywhere. Open your eyes and your hearts, not only to YOUR god, but embrace your neighbor despite their differences.

Lets be honest with ourselves. We can truly only guess as to what Trump was really thinking, anything else... is it not the judgement of his heart? That said, one thing I find interesting, from a 'biblical perspective', is that there are numerous references in scripture to our image and likeness of God. Jesus talked about our Oneness with God. The verse 2 Cor. 3:18 says "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord". There is humility, which I think the president does not always display well, but there is also false humility/religion. Humility is: "Thinking of oneself less often not... less than". So if man was created in the image and likeness of God and we are instructed to see ourselves, as if in a mirror, the glory of God then maybe one could say the President sees something in himself that most church goers will not. I find it fascinating, yet sad, how offend-able we have become in this nation. Maybe we can just focus more on our own lives/faults and make a difference one person at a time? Maybe? Be well all.

Beloved friends and all our relations,

From the shores of the Salish Sea—where tide and cedar remember what endures—a sign has moved across public discourse.

On April 13, 2026, President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image: a figure resembling himself, robed in white and red, hands glowing, healing a bedridden man. Around him—light, prayer, soldiers, jets. The visual language was unmistakable: healer, savior, one who restores.

The image was deleted after backlash. The explanation followed: it was meant to depict a doctor. Others, including close spiritual allies, had already drawn direct parallels—betrayal, suffering, resurrection—placing his story alongside that of Jesus Christ.

So we ask, plainly:

What happens when political power borrows the image of the sacred?

🧠 Testing the Image

Scripture gives a measure:

> “Test the spirits.” (1 John 4:1)
> “You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16)

Jesus refused spectacle.
He withdrew from crowds seeking to crown him.
He washed feet.

His authority was not declared through image, but revealed through service.

To elevate any human figure into sacred equivalence is to break that balance.

My biggest disappointment is in the reactions to the comments. To insult someone because you disagree with them only serves to widen the division between us. I have my views on the image. They've been repeated by others in earlier comments, so I won't stir the pot further. Instead, I'll request a different approach to those with whom we disagree.

I have been reminded this week that we are to love Trump and care about him regardless of these insane antics of his. The reminders come from my daily scripture readings. But my faith demands me to love my enemy. So I continue to pray for him to turn to God. Medieval European artist put Yeshua (Jesus) in red because that's the color of royalty, however Levi Priests dressed as Trump is portrayed. Jesus wore a Purple robe not red. The Catholic Church Cardinals wear red (origin of Santa in red) the Pope wears Red and Purple as Revelation prophecy stares women riding the seven headed Red Dragon. (Vatican City on the seven hills).

Paula White is right up there with him and his madness. The composition of the AI image is also telling, in a limited way, of how he projects what is important to him. Namely himself being much larger than the other people, (not to be considered an equal), decked out in a new wig, holding a flashlight(?).... and in the top half of the image, jet fighters with bombs exploding, to be one-upped by soldiers, appearing to what is supposed to be light shining from heaven. Lastly, his public explanation that he thought it was depicting him as a doctor.
