User reviewsI Found Myself While Reading this Book
By Thaddeus Turner, Mesa, AZ Ive long been interested in shamanism and after receiving the title of Shaman with the Universal Life Church, I ordered Michael Harners The Way of the Shaman. This book is a well-researched and profound look into the world of shamanism. Its clear that the author is familiar with shamanism, holding a deep passion for the magical world. One of the best things about this book is that the author does not merely explain what it means to be a shaman, he shows the reader all the avenues in which one can enter the shamanic world. This is not a mere explanation of Shamanism, its a deeply profound guide. I think my favorite part of The Way of the Shaman is the section which describes how to recover your power animal. I discovered my power animal was an Irish Setter, the same dog that won Best in Show at last years National Dog Show.
