If you want to study Paganism in more detail, this book is the place to start. Based on a course in Paganism that the authors have taught for more than a decade, it is full of exercises, meditations, and discussion questions for group or individual study. Explore what Pagans are like; how the Pagan sacred year is arranged; what Pagans do in ritual; what magic is; and what Pagans believe about God, worship, human nature and ethics. This book is a must have for comparative religious studies!
User reviewsThe path to Paganism begins with this book
By Denise Patterson-Wells, Flint, MI You know, there are a few kinds of books out there about Paganism. There are the books which detail rituals for any conceivable scenario you could run across and then there are great books like Paganism, an Introduction to Earth Centered Religions. What makes this book so great is that rather than providing stale, text book style, lists of pagan rituals, the authors have written a very warm and welcoming discussion of what it means to practice paganism. Joyce and River Higginbotham, provide the reader with exercises and journal entries, which really helped me as I first made my transition into Paganism. This book has changed the way I live my life and I always suggest it to friends who wants to learn more about Paganism, whether they're following the path of a Pagan or just curious.
