Are the majority of Christians today even Christian?

Breaking news: America’s most popular faith is “fake Christianity.” That’s the conclusion reached by researchers at Arizona Christian University, after assessing a recent poll of America’s religious landscape.

The poll and subsequent report, titled ‘American Worldview Inventory 2021’, offered some insights on Christianity in America today that could have serious implications for the future. Researchers found that young people are increasingly adopting a new worldview – which they call Moralistic Therapeutic Deism (MTD) – on which to base their values and make decisions.

What is Moralistic Therapeutic Deism? Depends who you ask. Pollster George Barna, head of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, calls it “fake Christianity.”

Feel-Good Faith

“Watered-down, feel-good, fake Christianity,” Barna stated, “is the most popular worldview in the United States today,” with some 44% of Millennials identifying it as their dominant worldview over other common philosophical outlooks like Biblical Theism or Postmodernism.

Breaking it down, Barna says it's a philosophy about being kind and feeling good, guided by a belief in a distant, uninvolved God.

“Basically, according to MTD, there is a distant God who just wants everyone to be nice, and the purpose of life is to be happy.” But, he says, “American ‘Christians’ who have adopted this philosophy have… elevate[d] personal definitions of right and wrong above any objective standard of Truth — like the Bible.”

According to Barna and others like him, this "watered-down" belief system is a farce, a betrayal of traditional Christian principles that have been pillars of the faith since its inception.

God's Way or the Highway?

Although three out of four MTD adherents still self-identify as Christian, they hold decidedly unbiblical beliefs, according to Barna.

He cites a number of statistics to back up his claim: 71% of poll respondents say the Bible might not be accurate communication from God, 74% believe in karma, and 75% do not believe that God is the source of all truth.

“The fact that a greater percentage of people who call themselves Christian draw from [MTD] than from the Bible says a lot about the state of the Christian church in America, in all of its manifestations,” Barna argues.

According to Barna, Christians who “do not believe in the creation story, reject the existence of absolute moral truth, [and] deny the existence of the Holy Spirit” can hardly be called Christians at all. "Simply and objectively stated, Christianity in this nation is rotting from the inside out.”

Is Change a Good Thing?

However, others don't see it that way. Just because a religion has taught something for centuries doesn't automatically mean that it's the correct belief, say defenders of Moralistic Therapeutic Deism (or whatever you prefer to call it).

Is it possible that the Bible got things wrong? Or that the lessons were simply interpreted incorrectly?

Our society's moral compass has evolved enormously just over the past 50 years, and many appear to believe that religious views should evolve along with the times.

What do you think? Is Christianity actually "rotting from the inside," or is there room in the church for young people to approach their faith in a different way?

Yes, absolutely "Fake Christianity" is huge. But I disagree on what is considered "Fake." The stuff being touted by Alt-Right Trumplican Fundigelicals is what I consider fake. Jesus was a Socialistic guy who believed in helping others even if they were different from you. He preached love and acceptance. What these fake Fox News followers do is exactly the opposite of what Christ told us to do. There's your "Fake Christianity" not the ones who believe in acceptance and tolerance.

Jesus advising the disciples to buy a sword in Luke 22:36: “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.” First, let’s look at a Gospel setting in which Christ absolutely endorses self-defense. “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into (Luke 12:39). ” Isn’t Jesus saying here that violence – or certainly the threat of violence – is not just the reasonable, but even the responsible, option to take in protecting one’s property, never mind one’s person or one’s family? Then, we have this next quotation from the Gospel of Mark: “But no one can enter the strong man’s house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man (3:27).” Now, why would the bad guy have to bind the strong man? Obviously, because the strong man would otherwise do all he could to keep the bad guy out! And again, that’s just to protect property. As if to confirm Mark’s Gospel, we find these additional words of Christ in the Gospel of Luke: “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his courtyard, his property is undisturbed (11:21).” In case anyone still doesn’t get the point, it is not enough simply to defend yourself when the situation arises; you should be armed and ready to defend even your property. And this, of course, is what Jesus told his disciples to do shortly before he was taken prisoner when he told them to make sure they had swords: arm yourselves and be ready. “TURN THE OTHER CHEEK” ALWAYS? It is true that Jesus said to turn the other cheek in Matthew 5:38-42. However, many scholars do not believe pacifism (or nonresistance) is the essential point of His teaching in this passage. These scholars do not believe Jesus was teaching to “turn the other cheek” in virtually all circumstances. Even Christ did not literally turn the other cheek when smitten by a member of the Sanhedrin (see John 18:22-23). The backdrop to this teaching is that the Jews considered it an insult to be hit in the face, much in the same way that we would interpret someone spitting in our face. Bible scholar R. C. Sproul comments: “What’s interesting in the expression is that Jesus specifically mentions the right side of the face [Matthew 5:39]….If I hit you on your right cheek, the most normal way would be if I did it with the back of my right hand….To the best of our knowledge of the Hebrew language, that expression is a Jewish idiom that describes an insult, similar to the way challenges to duels in the days of King Arthur were made by a backhand slap to the right cheek of your opponent.” The principle taught in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:38-42 would thus seem to be that Christians should not retaliate when insulted or slandered (see also Romans 12:17-21). Such insults do not threaten a Christian’s personal safety. The question of rendering insult for insult, however, is a far cry from defending oneself against a mugger or a rapist. In terms of following Christ’s example, one must remember that His personal nonresistance at the cross was intertwined with His unique calling. He did not evade His arrest because it was God’s will for Him to fulfill His prophetic role as the redemptive Lamb of God (Matthew 26:52-56). During His ministry, however, He refused to be arrested because God’s timing for His death had not yet come (John 8:59). Thus, Christ’s unique nonresistance during the Passion does not mandate against self-protection. THE BIBLICAL CASE FOR SELF-DEFENSE. It is noteworthy that the Bible records many accounts of fighting and warfare. The providence of God in war is exemplified by His name YHWH Sabaoth (“The LORD of hosts”–Exodus 12:41). God is portrayed as the omnipotent Warrior-Leader of the Israelites. God, the LORD of hosts, raised up warriors among the Israelites called the shophetim (savior-deliverers). Samson, Deborah, Gideon, and others were anointed by the Spirit of God to conduct war. The New Testament commends Old Testament warriors for their military acts of faith (Hebrews 11:30-40). Moreover, it is significant that although given the opportunity to do so, none of the New Testament saints–nor even Jesus–are ever seen informing a military convert that he needed to resign from his line of work (Matthew 8:5-13; Luke 3:14). Prior to His crucifixion, Jesus revealed to His disciples the future hostility they would face and encouraged them to sell their outer garments in order to buy a sword (Luke 22:36-38; cf. 2 Corinthians 11:26-27). Here the “sword” (Greek: maxairan) is a dagger or short sword that belonged to the Jewish traveler’s equipment as protection against robbers and wild animals. A plain reading of the passage indicates that Jesus approved of self-defense.

There is a vast difference between self-defense and being hateful and violent toward others.

That said, your response serves to show some of the many contradictions in the bible. So if you believe your god wants you to treat others with hate and violence and not love, you've got a crap god.

There is only One God. Yes,the BIBLE is full of contradicts because it was written by men who wanted to control the people through fear, but there is nothing wrong or evil in protecting one’s home, it country from invasion even when that invasion is disguised as imagination for the purpose of destroying one’s way of life. It's happening now whether you believe it or no. I see it everyday.

If you are referring to Krishna of the Hindu faith, to say he is the supreme being of the faith is a bit of an oversimplification as there are a number of different sects of Hinduism and a number of them do not view Krishna as the primary deity.

There are also a number of faiths that do not believe in a supreme deity such as Buddhism, Taoism, Shinto, Santeria, Paganism, and traditional African faiths.

In that long answer about taking arms to defend oneself, what is being said is to take up physical arms or violence against violence. What Jesus taught was we are at war with spiritual powers. He spoke in parables. When the thief comes Satan is the thief, liar and murder, Jesus wants us to be watchful. Watchful for our spirits. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Christians are foreigners to this world. The liar, the thief is here to steal our souls. Jesus tells us to pray and be watchful that we aren't robbed of what matters most. To lay our treasure up in heaven. All life is precious. Isn't that why people are against abortion? So,someone is going to kill someone over material goods? Things that rust and moths eat? If, an actual human thief is going to steal from you, your TV is worth more than that person's life? The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Jesus came to save the sinner. We are not to be the judge of whose right and whose wrong, who dies and who doesn't. It was mentioned that Jesus allowed himself to be scourged and exectued because he had a higher calling. That right there is manipulation of the gospel. We are called to be perfect even as our Father is perfect. We are called to be like Jesus. We are called not to be like the Pharisee who give mint and herbs as tithes but forget to display mercy and grace. If, someone wants to call his brother Raca, he's in the wrong. Jesus spoke about seeds and different kinds of soil, then he explained the parables and why he spoke in parables to the disciples. The examples of being watchful and not allowing the thief to take over, your heart and mind. That to watch because the "demon" will come back with 7 stonger "demons." Don't take a line and use that as reference to justify a want. Don't take the line when Jesus says God made man and woman in his image when the Pharisee were trying to tempt Him about divorce as a reason to persecute homsexualtiy. That was a teaching about divorce and how Mosaic Law and Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of men's hearts. Which Jesus teaches not an eye for an eye but a heart of flesh, to love God with all your heart, mind body and soul and to love your brother as yourself. And, who is your brother? The teaching of the man beaten and robbed on the road to Jerico, who had a Priest and Pharisee step over him, ignoring him but a Samaratian picked him up, placed him on his donkey and paid for his room at an inn and for his care there. is how you decide on whose your brother and living as follower of Jesus.

All of your "righteous violence" examples come from the Old Testament. Jesus said to turn the OTHER cheek when you are struck on the right- meaning 'do not defend and allow others the opportunity to assault you again.' Also, the parable of the thief and the house describes what that homeowner would have done- not what God was telling Christians to do. Finally, Jesus allowed Himself to be unfairly executed. He said repeatedly, He could have defended Himself at any time (My Father would send legions of angels) and He chose not to- the choice of non-violence was a revolutionary point.

        1. Rev. B's Avatar Rev. B

Plus if Jesus had not allowed himself to be executed he would not have saved the souls of mankind. Or so the story goes. This opens many ideas such as: Did Judas really betray Jesus or was he just playing his part? If he had not sold Jesus out, then again souls would not have been saved. Same with Peter denying Jesus 3 times. If these events do not happen, the story goes down a much different path.

Nothing you listed is considered a part of actual biblical tradition by non biased historians. It is well documented that the man called Jesus, and those who actually followed him, practiced a 100% non violent way of life, Unlike the tripe added in later intentionally altered versions of the bible, we have a fair amount of roman historical accounts of early christians being unwilling to raise voice or hand in protests of their own executuions. A true follower of Jesus would sooner pray for the man raping and murdering their wife then raise a voice in protest.

To truly follow the teachings of the Christ, one must be so certain of their faith they do not place value upon their life only their soul and the souls of others, even those who do them violence and murder. If you do not have that certainty than you are not in fact a follower of the Christ, and as such as a wishy washy fake theist we dont have to treat you with anything but contempt and disgust.

I am a student of history incluuding biblical history, and the accounts of Romans concerning his likely existence are held among the most valued of artifacts from that era confirming such. However just as the founders of other faith traditions, he was not in my mind anything special, and it always amuses me that those who cling to their faith have a hard time understanding that numerous faith traditions founders are well documented and their existence ar less in question such as the ancient prince of India who became the first to be seen as one who had reached enlightenment.

The best evidence for his existence, said roman accounts, also support the earliest writings, of a true way of living free of any desire to do violence, even in defense of oneself and their loved ones. Which I actually respect even if it in no way appeals to me. I do not however hold one bit of respect for anyone calling themselves christians but being unwilling to live by those ancient traditions.

Without condemnation for ALL sin, grace and forgiveness (love) have NO significance; and certainly no restorative value. This is the entire point of libertine secular humanism (hedonism): if nothing is wrong, we don't need forgiveness. But without the necessity for grace and mercy, love quickly dies and the soul becomes cruel and bitter. Redemption and enlightenment...whichever you seek...begins with a truthful assessment of ourselves. Anything else truly IS an "opiate for the masses."

Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, after he had driven those who wanted to stone her away by telling them to stone her only if they had no sins, "Woman, is there anyone here who has condemned you? Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more". That wasn't hatred for sin or judging or rebuking her, but only understanding and dealing mercifully with her. If judging and rebuking people is really the right way to go, why didn't Jesus just let the crowd go ahead and stone her to death? That would have been their judging and rebuking her, which you say is "right" and "what we should do". Jesus told the woman who washed his feet with her tears and dried them with her hair out of repentance over her sins at the Pharisee's house "Woman, your sins are forgiven you because of the greatness of your love" and didn't let the Pharisees just judgingly and rebukingly throw her out of the house. He didn't judge or rebuke that woman, either, but treated her with kindness and forgiveness. So much for "Jesus always wants us to only judge and rebuke people's sins", which his own example here disproves. The Inquisitors and witch burners also believed in a judgmental and rebuking Jesus, the same as you do, who wanted them to do the same, and we saw what torture and murder of people all that lead to!! They couldn't have done any of that if they had followed Jesus' teaching to "Love your neighbor as yourself" and "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". So, why don't you believe in loving your neighbor as yourself and doing unto others as you would have others do unto you and judging not lest you be judged, as Jesus said? Or, if you can't believe in any of that, believe in just going out and stoning all sinners to death, as the judgmental people did to others in Jesus' time?

Jesus DID tell us to rebuke in Luke 17:13; and to judge rightly in John 7:24. He Himself judged/rebuked in Matthew 7:6,15-16, 23:23. And in I Corinthians 2:14-15 we're given guidelines on judging.

We are all very happy that you have finally admitted that you are a lame brain because that could be the start of your coming into something like any intelligence and normalcy, if you are even capable of it!! I showed you two places in the Bible where Jesus didn't judge or rebuke people's sins, but showed them mercy and compassion, instead, which you could take a lesson from!! You haven't answered yet why you don't love your neighbor as yourself or do unto others as you would have others do unto you, as your picking childish names for people in here proves that you don't, when you wouldn't want that to be done to you!! That also violates Jesus' teaching "Inasmuch as you have done it unto the least of these, my brethren, you have done it unto me". Since you are always harping on what you think that Jesus said, to suit yourself, why not follow that teaching and loving your neighbor and doing unto others what you want done unto you, too, and stop your immature name-calling!! Are you 5 years old or mentally challenged or what?!! I gave you examples of people who judged and rebuked other people (the Inquisitors, witch burners, and crowd that wanted to stone the adulterous woman), who followed your advice of judging and rebuking people's sins. So, should we be following their examples, according to you, and going around killing sinners? Because you can't have it both ways: it's either love and forgive sinners or kill and attack sinners. Which is it? Don't strain yourself too hard answering that question.

Before you come back with another one of your name-calling, anti-Christian, ridiculous, and hypocritical replies, I could tell anyone else here that name-calling and insulting, as you always do, is childish and immature and inconsistent with Jesus' teaching to Love your neighbor as yourself, do unto others as you would have others do unto you, and his saying that "Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, you have done it unto me", and they could understand what I was saying to them and that that is immature behavior and contrary to Jesus' teaching. But when I tell you all that, all that you do is keep coming back with more of that behavior toward other people and myself, proving that you didn't understand that that is immature and inconsistent with Christianity or just don't care that it is, as your reply to this and my post above will prove once again!! If you are as smart as all these other people, as you claim, why don't you understand what they all understand about your behavior and change it accordingly? When you keep refusing to change your behavior here, no matter how much people tell you that it is immature and anti-Christian, what else can we believe, except that you aren't smart enough to figure that out or agree with obvious common sense about it? The proof is in the pudding of whether you are smart or not, not in your saying that you are, but in your agreement with the other smart people here about your stupid behavior and ceasing that stupid behavior!! So, now, let's see what your reply will be!!

No, you don't need religion to be a good person. Religion, to me, acts as a way to teach people morals and allow people to help themselves and others. If someone misses that lesson, which is the core tenet of every religion, and you practice religion to hate others, and turn religion into a battle between "us" the righteous and "them" the nonbelievers then the religion has been corrupted. Unfortunately, there are many people who corrupt religion to that point, which is why I'm personally an agnostic. However if it is used correctly religion can be useful in instilling morals in people. It's not the only way by any stretch, but it is a way.

I’ve seen so many people learning the Bible by heart and can quote by heart on every subject and this has always reminded me of 1 Corinthians 13:1: ‘If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”

Christianity is by definition the doctrine that adheres to Christ teachings which actually contradict the Old Testament quite often and as an example kindly read further.

Old Testament: “Show no pity: life shall be for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.” – Deuteronomy 19:21 But Jesus contradicts this directly: Jesus: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” – Matthew 5:38–39

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:43-48

Old Testament: ‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.” – Leviticus 20:10 Jesus famously ignored this command when they brought the woman caught in adultery to him:

Jesus: “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground….”Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.'” – John 8:3-11

    4) The Old Testament commands that no one do any work on the Sabbath: Old Testament: “But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do.” – Deuteronomy 5:14 Truth be told, no one breaks the Sabbath more than Jesus does. There are dozens of examples but here’s just one:

Jesus: “Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath” .

God Almighty says] Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'” – 1 Sam. 15:2-3

“But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes, but you shall devote them to complete destruction…” – Deut. 20:16-18 Can you imagine Jesus turning to you and commanding you to go next door and kill every man, woman, child, and even the pets of your neighbors? Does that sound like something Jesus would say? Does that sound like something that the “Abba” revealed by Jesus would command His children t Of course not. Therefore, we can conclude that verses like these are projections of God’s character made by men who sometimes heard from God prophetically and at other times [like these] did not.

How can we know this? Because we know that the God revealed to us by Jesus would not command this sort of violence against women or children, nor would He condemn someone for showing mercy and compassion on the weak and the helpless. The Father that Jesus reveals to us does not command us to kill our enemies or their infants. Instead, He commands us to love our enemies, to bless them, to do good to them, and to pray for them and if we refuse then, obviously, we are not following His Teachings and therefore we are not good Christians. Enemy means not a soldier but could be someone with different skin colour, an immigrant looking for a job or perhaps a young unmarried girl expecting a child. Yes, we must love and protect them, not stand in judgement with a soul full of hatred. This is not the Christian way of doing things.

He even tells us that when we do those things, we are also doing exactly what the Father does! We have not yet fully embraced the idea that Jesus was the only one who has ever seen God. We have not yet fully accepted the idea that Jesus reveals the Father to us better than anyone else does. We have not yet completely believed Jesus when He tells us that God loves and even blesses His enemies and that’s why we should do it, too

It's funny- when I read about "fake Christianity" I immediately assumed it was talking about Evangelical Nationalism- a kind of "Christianity" that mixes colonialism and American nationalism and resembles cultural Judaism. For example, most Evangelical Nationalists will defend the US Constitution and capitalism as strongly as their particular understanding of the Bible (that they will insist is literal, although it's actually selective). Like the Taliban, they want to enact a "Christian" moral theocracy and enforce their particular world view through legislation.

It's interesting to me how common it is to have people claim they are the one real arbiter of truth, while others have the same belief. Maybe a little more humility and grace and a little less rabid dogma is in order?

  1. Bishop William Dusenberry, DD's Avatar Bishop William Dusenberry, DD

Christianity, like all other religions, is based on a “fakeness-foundation.”

Why? Because the sole basis (AKA, primary evidence) that supports an actual “Jesus” came from Christian-hater Saul, who morphed into “Christian-zealot Paul” via his trip to Damascus, called “Paul’s conversion to Jesusism” while he was on the road to Damascus.

That’s right - without Saul, having a hallucination (imagined, fabricated, or due to using magic mushrooms) from which he created Jesus— there would no Jesus today; and if Jesus had never existed, neither would have Muhammad, the Angel Maroni, nor the Holy Ghost.

Those requiring a fact-based religion, need to consider secular Buddhism, the secular Christianity of Thomas Jefferson, the Bible according to Einstein, or the Pantheism as advocated by both Spinoza and Einstein,

It’s interesting that today’s major Jesus advocates - are the most outspoken opponents of Communistic/socialism — yet, when they die, if they still accept Jesus as real, they’ll be rewarded with a Christian Heaven, with a dictator; without any civil rights.

Everyone, in the Christian Heaven, will never have to work, will always be housed, fed and have access to birth control, because those in such a Heaven, can’t have sex, if reproduction is possible,

So if any ULC minister, requires a fact-based religion, Pantheism and Buddhism are recommended.

Um sorry but you are wrong. IN the Museum of London there is a stone that shows Israel being where it is now and a whole lot larger, over 2000 years BC. And there is a little box that has been dated to the exact year that Christ was supposed to have died on the Cross, and it clearly mentions his name. Now try and refute these objects. You cant.

      1. Ilmenheru Terikson's Avatar Ilmenheru Terikson

Ah DG still showing us you do not understand how science or critical thinking even work. A name inscirbed on something, when that name was as common as a name could be back that means nothing. Literally 80% of the jews in that region at that time were named Jesus. It is the single most common jewish name right up until the rise of the cult to the Christ, that lead to them banning that name as heretical.

And I doubt you even understand what you are trying to say about a stone. As stones cant be carbon dated, and inscriptions can be faked, it is not even so much as circumstantial evidence as it can not even be traced to a legitimate dig sight. It could very easily be a modern fabrication from some lunatic like yourself.

See here is how easy it is to dismiss all you believe. If you can not offer god himself in physical form to appear at your side on command, then your faith is false and means nothing to anyone but yourself. This is what it means to be a secular minded citizen of the U.L.C. and until you accept that a belief system is a personal thing with nothing of subtance to offer any b ut yourself, you will remain an enemy of all that are good and remain an agent of the ancient enemy that is insular faith in all its forms.

Clearly, if you are referring to this box, there is a very mixed school of thought among scholars, with not enough factual evidence to convince everyone.

It's interesting that I can't find any online reference in the London History Museum, of such a very important box. A museum that I've visited many times when I lived in England. Doesn't that strike you as odd?

As for the Merneptah Stele, there are different alternative translations for the wording of Israel. Another translation is Jesreel.

It's also stated that "It is not clear who this Israel was or where they were located" according to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merneptah_Stele

Wouldn't it be nice, if there really was a god of Israel, or any god, if he actually turned up to put everyones mind at rest. Surely an omniscient deity worthy of that status would know of all the struggles of doubt with all the many beliefs of all the wrong gods being worshipped. I guess that's just not going to happen, and I think if we were honest we all know why.

Anyway, let us all know if you ever come across any undisputed proof of a god. Any god will do. You could be in line for a Noble prize if you do, as you will be the first. I wish you luck.

Can you imagine if someone found real demonstrable evidence of a god, and it didn't turn out to be the Abrahamic god after all the millions of hours people spent nodding at that wall. It doesn't bear thinking about how they'd react does it?

When it comes to religion, this is where Christianity failed miserbly. For the most part, Chrisianity is one of the "newer" religions and there was already a split in it's belief system (Catholic and Prodestant) an has continued to split from there. Where as more established religions were successful innot only creating a belief system, but has ingrained cultural and society norms. Many of these religions are not just a belief system, but a way to govern their society. Traditions and beliefs are passed down from generation to generation and the people are quite content with this way of life. Christianity was a religion that was passed down, it was created or foced upon people and alot of blood was spilled over it. In it's infancy and up until a couple of hundred centuries ago, people still died due to hysteria and panic. It's a fear-based religion and this fear shows. Christianity is also branched from a Middle Eastern religion of Judaism. Nobody can deny that Jesus was a Jew because that's what was claimed in the bible, therefore many of his beliefs rooted from Judaism. The Old Testiment is the Jewish history, so obviously, Jesus's views may be a littledifferent but still the basic belief foundation he held on to. And then their is interpretation. It's known that different religious leader's came together to piece mail the bible. Some things were ommitted and some things were added in orer to attempt to remain consitent. However, the bible changed at times when new leader's or governments were put into place and so there is no consistency. Christianity, as a whole, is a reflection of all of these things. You see the fear, the judging, the different interpretations. It is no longer a religion but a belief system, nothing more, nothing less and with belief system, it will be up for interpretation. Persoanlly, I think it's good idea for this to unravel and perhaps you will all see the insanity of this split belief system. If you want a religion to suceed, you have to engrain it into society as a whole, to live by one specific interpretations, and govern by it. Since the US is about freedom, this is also reflected in the religion and people now take advantage of believing whatever they want, leaving the religious aspect behind and in moving more into a spiritual and individual belief system, whether you like it or not.

      1. Ilmenheru Terikson's Avatar Ilmenheru Terikson

You are Confusing Religious Tradition with Spiritual Faith. Something I find odd if you are a ULC minister in good standing as that is a basic concept one should understand before becoming a nondenominational minister.

To be an actual follower of a god requires one to submit to and adhere to the dogatic traditions it has established for itself.

The reason for this issue ofcourse exist entirely because of how U.S. law is written, and to protect all faiths and spiritual leanings we force them to self label as religion even though they dont actually function in the same way.

One ofcourse has to keep in mind Religion at its core is just another form of Government. It is a social structure created to manipulate, direct, and ultimately control the society that first created it.As the old saying goes did gods create us or we create our gods? Did social structure come from religion or religion created in the first tribes of humans as a way to define rules, and say yes we can do this, no we cant do that?

We can only attempt to guess it all by studying examples of isolated and nearly neolithic cultures that survived to some extent into the time of history for us to try and make some idea up from all of it. The tribes of Aboriginals in Austraila for example are structured around one of what we might call most casual yet most also most thoroughly ingrained belief systems on Earth. With their conviction in the world being a living thing, and their animism clearly being born of a strong bond and dependancy on a harsh environment that made them both need to love what they could not seperate themselves from, and yet a need to be able to accept loss and hardship because they were truly inevitable parts of the yearly cycle of nature there in a way few you have had to experience.

This seems true for certain groups of the tribes in the americas prior to the eurochristian invasion.

A Dogmatic tradition like that of any of the Abrahamic Faiths literally becomes more fake the farther it seperates itself from those early traditions. This is why the rift between Jews and Christians exist, as the Rabbinical scholars who are the experts of the lore of their faith say no Jesus does not meet the many clearly outlined requirements to be the Messiah, and the Christians say oh well you just dont understand the thing you are the expert and authority of.

For example here are just a couple. The messiah has to be born of a man who is of the direct line of King David. The Messiah will prove he is the messiah by bringing about true peace for all who live upon the world, every man, and every beast will stop shedding blood, and he will do this in his lifetime not by works that are completed after.

The fact Christians call Jesus the son of god rather then the son of Joseph is part of this very issue, as Joseph was in fact said to be of the direct line of David, an heir to a fallen kingdom if you will. The fact Jesus most certainly did not end all violence on Earth and make even the beasts stop shedding blood tells us all that the Messiah was not he.

Calling yourself something does not give you the right to start a church here in the U.S. we have some standards, not obstacles nor hurdles, just standards. Maybe too lax in fact, as we sure should not allow people to steal and usurp the names and gods of other traditions that are far older as that is just a clear con game.

You can not learn if all you do is get what you know second hand, do not listen to what has been preached to you since you were a child, go travel this world and try to understand.

    2. Ken Morrow's Avatar Ken Morrow

In your criticism, you actually highlighted the enduring strength of Christendom (the religion and cultural aspects). But...like so many people who post here...you miss the actual essence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yahweh didn't send Joshua (aka Jesus of Nazareth) to earth in the form of a man to found a new religion or the contradict the scriptures of Judaism. He came to fulfill and complete the Law -- to improve upon its misinterpretations and misapplications as then practiced in Israel. Redemption lies ONLY in a personal relationship with Joshua of Nazareth (aka Jesus), the Jewish Messiah. It isn't membership in a social construct (a club, a political party, a business entity, or even swearing allegiance to a group of texts written and compiled and translated and...yes...edited by men) which lies at the heart of Christianity. It isn't a "world view." It is a relationship with the Living God of Israel; and that recreates EVERYTHING about us, including our world view.

  1. Rev Nolan's Avatar Rev Nolan

First of all, I think the focus of the article is wrong. The focus should not be whether a religion is fake but what is true religion. True religion depends on what a religion is based on. If we base true religion on Abrahamic religion’s various scriptures, then God, as we call the Almighty, is love. If any part of the religion promotes anything less then, among the Abrahamic religions, that religion, whether of an individual or an organized system, is false religion.

Secondary thought, the reality, attainability, and sustainability of the goal of that religion’s existence has to be considered. Is it realistic? Can it be attained? Will it sustain its following through good times as well as bad times? American Evangelical Christianity, based on what is visible and blatantly taught, is divisive, erring, in conflict with the teachings of their Christ, and violent. THAT is an example of false, unsustainable religion.

Meanwhile, tertiary thought, true religion brings about harmony known in Arabic as salama and which is promoted using the word as an imperative: literally “Be harmonious!” or, in Arabic, Islām. Islām in her truest sense requires religion and science to be harmonious although religion is religion and science is science. Complete submission to the laws of nature and the universe also referred to as the Sovereign Laws of God involves community, stewardship, personal accountability, and responsibility. These are attainable goals when guided properly, and regardless of the name you give such a goal, it becomes pure religion. If any religion brings about discord, hatred, and violence to any degree, everyone is better without it.

In conclusion, by focusing on what is fake, we have already admitted that our own religion is a false religion regardless of what we think of any form of Christianity in any community at home or abroad.

I do like it that you are demonstrating how Christians can use the Bible to say anything they want. If you read genesis you’ll find over and over when God made everything it was good. Evolution means everything God created was not perfect. So which is it?

          1. William Diaz's Avatar William Diaz

"So which is it?" You are providing a false dilemma. You present a choice between two mutually exclusive options, implying that there are no other options.

G-d himself destroys his own creation. To destroy his creation is to say he didn't like it. But he said "it was good". "So which is it?"

"why do Christians have a long history of fighting it?" You are again misstating the facts. Darwin's theory is only 160 years old and there are Christians who are scientist that except it as a fact.

Many Christians are afraid to even suggest that the Bible could be wrong. Are they the lone proponents of truth in the midst of a perverted world of science? Or are there problems with their proposed evidences?

I've been thinking about this very seriously. I have noticed that mainline Christian churches have been losing congregants while churches with little or no affiliation to a larger organization seem to be flourishing.

Our neighbor is a member of one such church and I made a connection today between her conversion to this church and her having read the "Left Behind Series" of books by LaHaye and Jenkins. While this series of books was a speculative journey for people that realize they missed the Rapture, a lot of people took them to show a means toward redemption. I read the entire series because my neighbor kept pushing them. I thought they were boring after the first three. And they didn't represent the teaching I had come to trust.

    Dear Fellow Ministers,

While this is true there are many 'FAKE' churches, all faiths must be respected as long as they are for the betterment of ALL sentient creatures in all universes.

Profiteering off of ones spirituality uncertainty or even ones complete devotion is wrong and all who are participating it those type of 'Churches' are bound to spend eternity knowing they have done wrong when this life is done.

This is self-evident if one has truly become spiritually enlightened.

The current religion of America seems to be Football. If one looks at how it's organized, it follows a classic church heirarchy. It has great televangelist approach every Sunday. If you think about it, it covers the major sects normal meeting days and times. High School football in Friday, College football on Saturday, and Professional on Sunday. With games during the week you now have various degrees of bible study.

Notes on the science and art of polling:

    1. The wording of these questions seems to predicated on a specific world view (believed to be "true), so any response that does not support that "truth" is a bad thing. This is confirmation bias.
    2. The mission of the institute at this university (the one which conducted this poll) clearly has a mission of conversion to a specific worldview which should raise questions about the veracity of the findings This link: https://www.arizonachristian.edu/culturalresearchcenter/)

This isn't good social science; it evangelism. To draw scholarly conclusions based on sloppy research is junk science. This is not about what is and is not "Christianity"; it's about what is and is not the organization's agenda. So stop arguing about bad science.

Ok, here it is in the proverbial nutshell: Some guy, gal,or thing comes down or up from wherever IT was from possibly sent by some other entity Greater than IT. A number of people embrace It's teachings or philosophy and create a movement that evolves into a Religion or faith or whatever you want to call it. Time passes... someone decides he or she doesn't like something so a split happens. Time passes... again another split...Time passes...etc,etc. After a while the Newest embodiment of the "religion"bears no resemblance to the original philosophy. So, what is true? Is it true because you "believe"? Is it not true because you do not "believe "? One can only follow one's heart. Each to one's own.

As I read through some of the related post of this topic: Fake Christianity. I notice variations of everyone comments even the one I posted. Each post identifies a mark of each comment. Its like a tag so-to-speak. It tells the reader who we are representing.

The dialog of each comment expressing our understanding of what we think of the fake Christianity represents. at the end of each comment it never bring use to a common understanding.

So I started to wander, do we represent the mark of the beast or the name. As I read some of the comments some of us spoke on the history of Christianity based on the teaching of the bible, some spoke of what they believe as their choses, and some were just derogatory.

The thing is, we need to come to a common understanding (agree) in this world, are we witness in this world? Are we being lead in the spirit or the name of who we are in this world that we represent

I say name because of the mark that we represent in this world.

What ever spirit we are representing it will represent whats in the heart. Whether it is the Kingdom of God or ourselves. You see, it is the name of the teaching; our selves, its our titles, of our selves, and of our chooses to believe in our selves, its all about our selves.

Jesus said in the 4th Chapter 4th verse of Matthew, "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, shall man live.

Jesus never spoke of himself but in the second person: the "Son: (Christ). In the first person: " the son of man:(Jesus)" , Jesus said, "I can do nothing of my self".

So I say, let God be true and every man a liar, that we all can agree as one in Christ. This is so that the Father can be glorified in the Son. Amen!

    To God be the Glory.

In truth Stacey we really don't know what Jesus said about anything being as everything that was supposedly said was written down by someone else that wasn't there many years later, and in some case decades later. I wonder how much of it that was handed down got changed as it went from mouth to mouth? Was any of it real?

We know for a fact that the story of Jesus being alone in the Garden of Gethsemane, sweating drops of blood, either didn't really happen, or unlike as the Bible states it, he wasn't alone, because someone, who wasn't there, somehow wrote about it all. How much more of the Bible is just made up stuff. I guess we'll never really know! 🤷🏻‍♂️

                Thank you Stacey.

Please allow me to explain that in reality, you don't know a supposed god will quicken me, whatever that really means. I do honestly understand you are under the misguided impression that you do know, that a god will "quicken" me, but to know something you have to have clear factual knowledge that can be backed up with unequivocal evidence. That is how one gets true knowledge! That is the basis of all understanding Stacey.

For instance, we do "know" that the earth revolves around the sun, and it can be proven. Galileo proved that heliocentric concept when all religionists insisted otherwise on a geocentric belief. Being as he went "against" religious beliefs he was incarcerated for the rest of his life. They all thought they "knew" better.

For you to "know" a god will quicken someone, you first have to demonstrably do something that no one has yet been able to do, and that is to prove a god, any god, really exists.

Permit me to say that I think what you really meant to say was that you have a "belief" that a god, (in this case your believed god) will somehow prove to me of his existence, which so far, he hasn't been able to do for anyone, ever. Being as he is supposed to be an omnipotent deity one would think it would be very easy task for him to do.

Please don't see my comments as being sarcastic, all I am doing is stating logic and reason, much like Galileo did.

May you one day see true logic and reason and not be blinded by faith.🤗

The MacMillan Encyclopedia of Religions states:

The very attempt to define religion, to find some distinctive or possibly unique essence or set of qualities that distinguish the religious from the remainder of human life, is primarily a Western concern. The attempt is a natural consequence of the Western speculative, intellectualistic, and scientific disposition. It is also the product of the dominant Western religious mode, what is called the Judeo-Christian climate or, more accurately, the theistic inheritance from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The theistic form of belief in this tradition, even when downgraded culturally, is formative of the dichotomous Western view of religion. That is, the basic structure of theism is essentially a distinction between a transcendent deity and all else, between the creator and his creation, between God and man.

The Kingdom of God is at Hand!

Jesus informed believers what to look out for in these last days. Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation (like when people refuse to hear and obey Gods voice),’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

Jesus explains in John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.)

25 Behold, I have told you advance.

The condition of the world is unfolding before our eyes.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine: (wishing someone total health or self help). Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Surely you have heard of the administration of God's grace, having been given to me (Paul) toward you. How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote before in few words),

Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees ( a genealogy, a record of descent or lineage) things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God.

All these thing lead believers away from Him who has called them. The condition of this world is setting up the preparation of Jesus return.

The riots, covid 19, the fall of Afghanistan, the earth quacks, the flooding in other country's, the fires in California, the killings all over the country, and the division of our nation and government. The love and companion is gone.

Jesus is at the door and there is a way of escape.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that over comes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Again Stacey, in this case all you are doing is quoting from a book written by men. I realize you place a great deal in this book, I did the same, and I would quote in a similar parrot-like fashion many of the things that you do. The book you believe in is very flawed. There are too many errors and inconsistencies to take it seriously. For instance, do you realize there is still no archaeological factual evidence that Moses existed, or even the exodus happened. We do know a few places that are mentioned in that book exist, which is hardly surprising as a lot of it was written in those lands, but many still evade evidence of their existence. Even if all of them were found it wouldn't mean the stories about them were true.

We have the "story" of someone called Jesus (again very little evidence) of him going into the Garden of Gethsemane all on his own to supposedly talk to his father god where he supposedly sweat drops of blood from every pore. This was a secret meeting with no one else there, so who was it "that wasn't there" that witnessed everything in fine detail to talk about it so that it could be written down decades later by people who also were not there.

Can you see how ridiculous all this is? It might also, by now, have you believing that woman really did come from the rib of a man. If you truly studied genetics, as I have, you would know very differently with real factual knowledge.

Anyway, thank you for all your biblical quotes, that many like to do, professing they "know" best. In reality, they don't! Such is the problem with indoctrination, mostly from childhood. Children are so easily convinced of virtually anything. Santa Clause, and even fairies, are typical examples.

That doesn't mean who or what He is to you.

You have the right to be in your unbelief.

You had people in your life telling you the way you should go by macerating it as God

You see, you could not never experience Him in your life because you were to busy preforming. Inadvertently, it caused you to search out doing things just to if He was real or not.

Ultimately, you turned away from Him. He hasn't left you, you have a piece of himself in you that you can't deny. But you can't see it as Him.

This piece of Him is His love and companion for people.

I can't attempt to declare God that He is real. If I tried, you wouldn't believe it really happened. Only God can anoint your heart to believe, He is who He says He is.

You can't blame God for not responding. He was crucified for it, and he didn't say a mumbling word.

This is hard to believe, but it happened.

You want to see God work; it won't happen. You want to know why? Your heart is not prepared to accept the revelation, because your heart is full of darkness (hostility).

This doesn't mean that your a mean person, it just means you don't understand.

All hostility does is force people to change there minds.

God wants to show you that he is God with out hostility. But the only way He can show you, is by becoming you becoming a living sacrifice acceptable to him.

You give your life to Christ. By doing this, Christ becomes your life. The life you live is Christ. This is called walking in the spirit and not fulfilling the hostility (unbelief) of the flesh.

The only evidence of what I'm sharing with is what the spirit of Christ has to say to you. All you have to do is believe.

If your heart is harden, I can respect that. As for Jesus Christ, he will still be the Lord in my life because he sacrificed his life so I can live by the glory of God.

It’s amazing to me how deeply indoctrinated you have become. You state a variety of things here with NO supporting factual evidence. All you are relying on is something that EVERY religion on earth relies upon, and that is faith.

It’s like me saying to you Stacey that Lord Krishna is really in your heart even though you deny it. He knows that you will wake up to his glory one day.

Can you see how ridiculous that statement is? That, Stacey, is just how ridiculous your statement is. The very fact that you cannot see it, just goes to show how deeply indoctrinated you have become.

May the Lord Krishna come into your heart, all you have to do is believe 🤪

                Lion heart,

There has been supporting evidence. But you haven't received it from him.

He that receives the Son of God receives the Father also. Unfortunately you have denied the witness God have given you.

Since you have rejected the gift of God which I have shared with you I understand it would be impossible for you to see the spirit of truth.

Plus you wouldn't understand the spirit of truth because it he would be foolishness to you anyway.

Your lord and god is not able to deliver you out of anything anyway.

I will say this, the next time your in a situation no matter what it is, just say Jesus Christ I trust you to help me in my situation.

                And wait for it.

Please be serious when you do it. I assure you, the love of Christ will conquer what you need.

You won't need a bible or scripture, and past failures don't count. You don't need to think about them.

Hey, you never know, you might get a blessing you never wanted to get.

My the piece and grace of God be with in Jesus Christ out Lord.

Not only have I not received any demonstrable evidence of the reality of your god/Lord, neither has anyone else, not even you Stacey. All you have to go on is your faith, which is the same thing that every religion on earth is also relying on, because that's all there is. Do you not see that the faith you you rely on is the same thing that every religion on earth is relying on? All of them saying they have the truth. Your doxastic attitude is preventing you from seeing what is factually true.

May the reality of truth, using logic and reason, one day set you free.

                🦁♥️

              5. Stacey Owens's Avatar Stacey Owens

The demonstrable evidence of the reality of God is you. You are the evidence.

God is a spirit. You are flesh and bones. But you have a spirit that identities you, and it is your soul, your consciousness.

This is where God dwell. But you don't know it.

You think when the body dies, your dead, no consciousness.

But that's not true. Since you don't know, its because you never actually died. So there is no evidence to prove what happens when a person dies. No evidence of living. Because you have no proof of anyone personally come back to be a witness of the after life.

So you can say death does not exist. Yet you really don't know.

Since there is no eternal life, there is no death because it doesn't exist.

We're just Zombies in this world. We walk around building things up, acting like we're good to turn around and trash it all.

We don't exist to you at all. I'm just saying.

              6. Lionheart's Avatar Lionheart

I do understand where you think you are coming from. Thank you for your reply. The reality is that you and I exist, and we can provide proof of that.

Your references to "God is spirit" and "I have a spirit that identifies me" and your reference to "soul" are all terms used by religionists of all faiths. They are terms that have been used in text for millennia and they are terms formulated by mankind, but the reality is, no one knows what "spirit" and "soul" and "god" really is. Different cultures of this earth of ours have created these terms as though they profess to know they are real, but they have all done so with no testable knowledge whatsoever. It sounds good, and to the uneducated, can sound even convincing, but we still don't know Stacey.

You will hear some people talk about "universal consciousness" as though they know what they are taking about, and people love those words so they embrace them and reiterate the same words to others, as though they understand it, but they don't. It's basically word salad that sounds good.

You are saying similar words that you have heard from someone else, and have fully embraced it because it sounds right. saying things like "This is where God dwells" is totally unproven garbage. Again, there is no evidence any god exists, not even yours, so saying "god dwells in us" is a totally unfounded and unproven statement.

It's like if I was to say to you that fairies are real, and they created the heavens and the earth, and they come out at night to check on us to see if we are ok. You would demand proof. And rightly so. It's possible that if you had been told that from childhood you might still believe it. It's called indoctrination. We do that with children about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. Eventually, we have to tell them the truth that there is no demonstrable evidence they are real.

Saying I am demonstrable evidence is not evidence at all. If I show you a child dying of cancer, should I say that child is demonstrable evidence of a god? If I show you a child that has been picked up by a hurricane and smashed against some rocks would that be evidence of a god? Both of those examples could possible be evidence against any god in my eyes, because if I was a god I would help that dying child, and help that child being thrown around by the wind. In my eyes, that makes me greater than any other god that will not show up and do anything.

Thank you for your thoughts though.

Check this out, if you believe that your a man then that's what you are in truth: a man. This is what you believe within yourself.

No one can tell you different. As far as using fairies, that's a redundant analogy.

However, If a man believes he's a women and rejects the truth that he is born a man, yet the demostrable evidence bares witness in truth.

No matter what the person believes, no matter how he changes himself into a woman. The truth demonstrates he is still a man nd no law can change it.

So then virtually, you might as well say, he's a fairy: (Literally). Because he believes in a fable.

                And that's the truth.

This is the evidence that God exist, because he is Truth.

This is what the scripture is saying: I have revealed your name unto the men that you have given me).

God's name is Truth and Jesus Christ is the word in the flesh expressing God.

If you wish to believe in a fable, well, that's what a person choses to believe. No one can make a lie by proving it's the truth because the truth will be the one to reveal it's a lie.

                Point blank.

You’re wrong Stacey. Written documentation is never accepted as evidence of proof of anything that’s is written in the document. Evidence has to be factually correct, and can be demonstrably proved by anyone. It doesn’t matter what is written in scripture, just the same as it doesn’t matter what is written in the Harry Potter books. It’s all fable and tales unless “proven” to be true. You have no testable evidence Stacey. When will you be alive to that fact? You have not provided any demonstrable evidence Stacey that your god is real. Even your god doesn’t seem able to show up and prove he’s/she’s real.

      Dennis Michael Parker,

The meaning of the words may be the same but who Yahweh Himself is, which lives forever, speaks one language and His word is the living word. The works He has done is finished. He is the God of rest, there is no other god beside Him.

He declares Himself, the only true God.

  1. John D. Partin's Avatar John D. Partin

Anything's being accepted as demonstrable evidence of any reality is dependent on the open-mindedness of the person that is being spoken to toward being convinced by that reasoning and evidence, and where that open-mindedness isn't present, nothing will be accepted as demonstrable evidence of that reality. This applies not only to you and other atheists, who have set your minds against any evidence for God's existence before any evidence for it is presented to you at all and the conversation is over before it even begins, as far as you are concerned, but to Nazis, Klansmen, domestic abusers, child molesters, rapists, sex traffickers, pimps, alcoholics, drug addicts, and all others who are stuck in rotten and self-destructive behavior and thinking, and can't or won't let themselves be reached and brought out of that by any arguments or reasoning against their problems that anyone can ever present to them!! Their being stuck in all of their thinking and behavior doesn't make them or you reasonable people or the reality of their situations and reasons against them not reality or reasonable, but only prove that people can convince themselves that they and their thinking and behavior are "right", no matter what, and that anything said against how they want to live and think is "wrong", no matter what! So, before you ask for demonstrable evidence of God's existence, you have to first make yourself open to accepting evidence of His existence, which other people who have opened their minds to that evidence have accepted as demonstrable evidence of His existence. Until you do so, nothing that anyone can ever say to you will ever be accepted by you as evidence of it, through no fault of the evidence itself, but only because of the block in you that keeps you from accepting it as demonstrable evidence. Every truly reasonable person sees the obvious contradiction in a mindless universe's coming up with its own laws for its operation and interconnecting them so as to make them work together and assist each other or "giving birth to itself" or in answers to prayers of what people asked for "proving that there is no God Who answered those prayers and the answers' being 'coincidence'". Until you come up to that level of rationality and maturity, it is pointless for you to ask for demonstrable evidence of God's existence, which you can't understand or accept, anyway! You have more faith and more unreasonable faith than you accuse me and other people of having and so it is ridiculous and hypocritical for you to criticize anyone else's faith!! Your secular dogmatic faith is preventing you from seeing what is factually true and what is truly reasonable and realistic!! Do you not see that the atheistic faith you rely on is the same thing that every ungodly and rotten atheistic movement and philosophy (Communism, Nazism, the culture of death, and all other such resultant things) is relying on!! May the actual reality of the Truth, using true logic and reason, one day soon set you free!!

Again, you are just quoting here things that you have been indoctrinated to believe. Show me the evidence. If you can't do that, you are no different than those who say that Vishnu is real, or Brahma is real, or Krishna is real, and he dwells within us. People actually believe that Stacey. They are so convinced that these supposed Gods are real they would die for it. They feel it within them. They worship and pray to them, just like you do yours. You are no different. Some of those religions are older than yours, so they think theirs is more real than yours. Their gods never condoned slavery, or stoning People to death, or killed babies, or drowned everyone on earth like yours is supposed to have done.

Everyone in the world is indoctrinated to believe what they believe by someone.

The evidence is in you and around you. You can see God's grace and truth in Life. Through the act of compassion, giving, grace, and through telling the truth. The reason why you don't believe in God, you don't recognize Him.

This is how to recognise God: Look at your life. You manifest the power of God by expressing His image and likeness through your Life. Not through your form or self. God manifests as life through truth and by word.

People are transformed by the power of God manifesting in them. Yet, do to unbelief, you can't receive Him as the truth or the word that is spoken. In the eyes of unbelievers, God is a form of religion to some people, but He is not. They only see the person. Religion or form cannot allow God to bare witness of Himself because the form will bind the person as a debtor and create religion: becoming indoctrinated

Look within: truth (God) will make you free.

Sorry Stacey, but what you have written here is absolute religious rubbish, with no demonstrable evidence whatsoever.

You are somehow equating feelings with what you like to see as truth. Please note that in a court of law, demonstrable evidence is always required, not warm fuzzy feelings of looking within you to determine truth. That’s how it should be to determine the truth of ALL religions, even yours.

I am just like you, Stacey, I don’t believe in all those other religions, just like you don’t believe in them. It’s just that I don’t believe in yours either because there is no demonstrable evidence to show it’s true.
